Scuba Classes Overview
|
Learn to SCUBA DIVE |
This is where we take
the plunge into the underwater world and experience marine
life up close and personal. The PADI OW course is a two
part program, which will give you skills necessary to
scuba dive anytime you want, for the rest of your life.
Part One consists of pool skills and classroom studies,
both completed in our fantastic facilities. The work
requires approximately 7 - 10 hours in the class and
7 - 10 hours in the pool. We offer convenient schedules
year round that consist of 3 Saturdays in a row. If this
won't work into your busy schedule, we offer private
lessons to meet your timetable. Part Two incorporates
4 dives in the open water with an instructor, to complete
the certification process. These dives may be done locally
in our conveniently located private training quarry,
or while you are on vacation-anywhere in the world. We
start certifying at the age of ten and have certified
people in their seventies. It is never too soon or too
late to enjoy this phenomenal sport. The cost of part
One- Academics and Pool is $399 and includes all training
materials. Mask, fins and snorkel are required. At the
completion of the course each diver will receive a $50
Tri-State Scuba gift card. The cost of part Two- The
Open Water Certification Dives is $199 plus rental gear. |
Learn to SNORKEL |
Add new adventures to your vacation by learning to snorkel. Snorkeling is fun for kids 6 years old to....well, you decide! These classes are offered on a private basis, and take about an hour to complete. The cost is $45.00 and includes required equipment. Of course, it is always more fun if you own your own snorkel gear! |
Advanced Open Water Diver |
Now that you are certified, take the next step to hone your skills and try some new environments under the direct supervision of one of our professional instructors. In this course, there is a workshop of skills, with most of the training completed right on the dive site. We will introduce you to deep diving, navigation techniques, perfect your buoyancy, teach you how to find and bring objects to the surface, and take you on a night dive. Since night diving is an option, we can replace this part of the course with environmental awareness or another class of your choice. But take it from a seasoned veteran, there is nothing in the world that compares with seeing coral bloom at night! |
| Rescue Diver |
To broaden your diving expertise and become the very best dive buddy, your next step is rescue procedures. This class is always everyone's favorite. You will spend three evenings in the classroom and pool learning new skills, then take those skills to the open water for a 2 day training session. You will learn how to handle situations on shore, as well as off shore, and many of the skills will be useful in your everyday life. |
CPR/MFA |
Following International Guidelines and Standards, this non-diving specific course teaches the life saving techniques of CPR, touches on the use of AED's and covers Medic First Aid procedures. The course is a combination of lecture and hands on experience, taught by certified Instructors. The PADI Emergency First Response Course provides a TWO year certification. This program may be modified to update previously certified people who just need to update their certification. |
| Specialties |
Can't get enough diving experience, or want something specific? We can do it! Become accomplished in underwater photography, diving wrecks, identifying marine life, diving locally in the winter using dry suits, or just about anything that you can think of! Many specialties may be taught right after your open water training is completed. Don't worry about "paying your dues" to learn something new, when we can teach you right away. |
| Nitrox |
The "buzz" is Nitrox. Just what is it and will it benefit the recreational diver? Get the facts. This 3 hour course teaches the diver to safely enrich the oxygen content of the air they are breathing, how to use the tables associated with the changed blend, and how to analyze the oxygen content in their tank. |
| Master Scuba Diver |
After taking your Rescue Course, you may not want to go the "Pro" route, The MSD rating is the highest non-professional rating which may be earned through PADI. The requirements include: a PADI Rescue Certification, along with 5 Specialties. Ask us how to put you on a path to higher achievement. |
